This is a volunteering student association present in multiple cities around Canada. Our primary mission is to provide elementary school kids with quality piano lessons for free. Our volunteers are in charge of coordinating with schools and also providing piano lessons both online and in person. Our association also plans Coffee houses every term, where more volunteers do casual performances, and we ask for sponsorships to raise funds and buy books and incentives for our students.
I am coordinating only two schools. My role here is to ensure volunteers and teachers can be together with the kids simultaneously and schedule the classes according to their schedules. Furthermore, my other responsibilities are to keep constant communication with volunteers and make sure they have all the materials needed for their classes, as well as let the teachers know when they will be absent.
In this position my responsabilities are to help organize events such as the coffee houses, promote our values inside and outside the school and look for new volunteers.
This position is more manageable. I teach virtually a group of elementary school kids the basics of piano interpretation and also the elements of music theory. We have a weekly 20-minute session where I use different tools to explain the topics with pedagogical methods.
Corrector and Teaching Assistant
I worked for two years as a corrector and TA in this class with approximately 160 students from all around the world. While I was corrector, my job was to grade reports and also an activity which included the analysis and cleaning of data, together with the training of several ML and DL models for predicting cyber attacks. While I was TA, my responsibilities grew, so I had to design an activity in which students used Kafka and dockers to simulate a real continuous flow of information and compare the results of training both a dynamic model (changes with time) and a static model (is only trained once). As well as having office hours to help students with their final projects and assignments.
Teaching Assistant
During my last term as a master's student, I was provided with the opportunity to help a professor with this lecture. My responsibilities were simple: I had to give once a week a laboratory and help students (one-on-one) with specific doubts regarding the whole design and analysis process. There were around 140 students, and I helped them with questions regarding design, mockups, HTML, CSS, basic JavaScript, implementation with Bootstrap and React.
